Title of Document: THE TRANSCRIPTIONAL REGULATOR MPHR(A): CHARACTERIZATION AND CIRCUIT ENGINEERING Adam Smolinsky, Master of Science, 2008 Directed By: Dr. T. Ashton Cropp, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry The MphR(A) transcriptional repressor protein was incorporated into high-efficiency expression vectors, purified and characterized. Initial screens for crystallography solvents were conducted along with preliminary gel-shift and intrinsic fluorescence quenching experiments to obtain the equilibrium dissociation constant for the protein-DNA interactions. The constant was found to be 0.5 – 1.9 M, depending on the method used. The gene was also incorporated into positive feedback circuits to detect macrolide antibiotics using various reporter genes and plasmid constructs. Qualitatively, the circuits showed a change in output upon the addition of MphR to the system. THE TRANSCRIPTIONAL REGULATOR MPHR(A): CHARACTERIZATION AND CIRCUIT ENGINEERING

Emulation, Model Identification and New-approach Characterization of a PV Panel (TECHNICAL NOTE)
This paper provides experimental and simulation tools to characterize a Photo-Voltaic (PV) panel. To achieve this objective, we start from a PV electrical model and we propose a circuit using Diode-based-equivalent PV (DBEPV) panel. This circuit is presented as a prototype of an equivalent PV panel. It is designed to emulate a real PV module in different climatic conditions (irradiance and temp...
متن کاملEfficient Delay Characterization Method to Obtain the Output Waveform of Logic Gates Considering Glitches
Accurate delay calculation of circuit gates is very important in timing analysis of digital circuits. Waveform shapes on the input ports of logic gates should be considered, in the characterization phase of delay calculation, to obtain accurate gate delay values. Glitches and their temporal effect on circuit gate delays should be taken into account for this purpose. However, the explosive numbe...

متن کاملCharacterization of Power Transformer Electromagnetic Forces Affected by Winding Faults
Electromagnetic forces in power transformer windings are produced by interaction between the leakage fluxes and current passing them. Since the leakage flux distribution along the windings height is in two axial and radial directions, so the electromagnetic forces have two components, radial and axial. There is a risk that a large electromagnetic force due to the short circuit or inrush current...
